Heavily inspired by Doom (2016), Hellbreak cranks up the destruction and metal vibes, bringing the action roguelike genre some serious firepower. There’s a solid range of weapons and spells to unlock, but the blessings that empower them feel a little flat for now. The demons, while satisfying to crush at first, start to feel pretty generic mostly with the attacks they bring to the fold. After a few runs, it can start to get a little monotonous in the early stages. Overall Hellbreak has a strong foundation that we look forward to seeing be built upon.
